Phillips Sonicare Toothbrushes
If you've ever met me, you know my favorite electric toothbrush is the Phillips Sonicare toothbrush. There are really two options for best of in electric toothbrushes. There are the rotary brushes and there are these ultrasonic brushes. I'm a big fan of the Sonicare ultrasonic version and I'm gonna tell you why.
In the video, I show an example of the Sonicare brush and what I like about it. Instead of rotating, it vibrates ultrasonically. Why I like that is because when you have gum recession, I feel like the Sonicare toothbrush creates more abrasion along the gum line, and it won't lead towards gum recession. The other huge value in the newer Sonicare toothbrushes is they have a pressure sensor. If you are pressing too hard on your gums, it makes a distinct noise that tells you you're pressing too hard.
There's a couple different features on each of the Sonicares, none that are really that important. The most important is the engine which you can even find in the brushes that are not in the top tier of the Sonicare brand. What I'm saying is don't go buy the most expensive Sonicare toothbrush just because in our minds, sometimes we equate the best product as being the most expensive. The Cole's Notes of the things you need is the Sonicare engine and the pressure sensor are the two things that I think are most important.Â
Go for the DiamondClean if you'd like but there's lower models that we carry here at our office. Costco sells a two pack London drug puts things on sale often, and please, I always tell our patients, we're not looking to sell you an electric toothbrush, but I really do, from the bottom of my heart, want the best toothbrush for you that can help your oral health.
Again, if you've met me, you know, I'm super passionate about these because I really feel like they're the best thing for anyone's mouth, but especially if you have periodontal disease or you have gum recession. If you have any questions about this toothbrush or we can answer anything more for you, please call our office.
