Dental Implants
If you've received the news that you require a dental implant, you're likely brimming with questions about this procedure. In this video, we aim to provide clarity on some of the common queries regarding dental implants in Vernon, B.C.
Should you find yourself seeking more information, please do not hesitate to reach out to us. It's important to recognize that each patient presents a unique oral landscape, including where the implant will be positioned and the available bone for implant placement. Due to this individuality, we strongly recommend consulting with a dental professional to address any queries or concerns you may have concerning the implant procedure.
Let's briefly explore what a dental implant entails. Whether a tooth has been extracted or never grew, a fixture is surgically implanted into the jawbone, as demonstrated in the video. Following this step, there is typically a waiting period of approximately three to four months during which the fixture fuses with the bone. Once this integration is complete, we can affix a crown atop the implant, resembling what we typically observe in our natural dentition. Subsequently, after the healing period, the crown is placed, and the dental implant functions akin to a regular tooth.
While a dental implant closely emulates natural teeth, it's important to note that there are certain distinctions. Nonetheless, it remains the most comparable replacement to a natural tooth that we have at our disposal. With any luck, this video has dispelled some of the uncertainties surrounding dental implants. Should you have further questions or require additional information, please don't hesitate to contact our office.
